Exterior Modifications

Thinking of doing some exterior modifications to your home? If so, you will need to complete and submit an Architectural Review Project Application to the ARC Committee for approval.

The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) meets on the first Tuesday of most months. Applications must be received by the Management Agent no later than the close of business on the third (3rd) Friday of the preceding month to be presented for ARC review.

ARC Project Applications (You can fill out this application electronically if you download the form and open it in Acrobat or an Internet browser) may be uploaded to TownSq, mailed to ARC, C/O Clarksburg HOA, 12901 Sugarloaf Chapel Drive, Suite 15, Clarksburg, MD 20871, deposited in the secure drop box located outside the management office, or emailed to manager@clarksburghoa.com.

Important Information

A project application is NOT required for the repair and replacement of the existing structure with the same or like materials, colors, and design as originally designed by the builder or previously approved by the ARC.

The Homeowner must apply. Tenant applications will not be approved.

An ARC application includes:

  • A completed ARC Project Application (You can fill out this application electronically if you download the form and open it in Acrobat or an Internet browser) is required. If an application is incomplete, it will be returned to the homeowner without approval
  • Plans and Specifications including sketches, photos, catalog illustrations, etc. to show the nature, kind, shape, color, dimensions, and materials MUST be included with the submission of the completed application 
  • A copy of the survey with the location marked must be included with the submission of the completed application.  Click here for directions to perform a records request via Montgomery County. This can also be found in the settlement documentation. 
  • Two Neighbor Acknowledgment Signatures in the completed Project Application
  • Homeowner(s) Signature(s) in the completed Project Application

Steps for Completing the Approval Process

  1. Complete the ARC Project Application (You can fill out this application electronically if you download the form and open it in Acrobat or an Internet browser)
  2. Gather all of your supporting documentation (blueprints, sketches, photos, catalog illustrations, etc. to show the nature, kind, shape, color, dimensions, and materials)
  3. Submit the completed ARC Project Application and the additional documentation to Clarksburg HOA via:
