When to Call the County (311)

The HOA and Montgomery County both have a part in keeping the community looking nice. Except for a few private streets (listed below), the County is responsible for most roads in the community including road repairs, cement sidewalks, street lights, and snow removal. Montgomery County also provides recycling services.

Please contact the county by dialing 3-1-1 to report issues regarding the following:

Trash Collection

  • Trash collection days are Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Trash is collected from the alley behind your home.
  • On federal holiday weeks, collection takes place on only one day.
  • Trash can be put out for collection no earlier than 7:00 PM the evening prior to collection.

As per the Trash Policy-

  • Trash must be stored in closed plastic bags and placed inside a durable lidded trash container.
  • Trash and recycling containers must be stored out of sight (in garages or rear yards) at all times except on days of collection and after 6:00 pm the night before collection.

Trash Collection Services

  • Clarksburg HOA Trash Collection is provided by J&J Trash Service, not by Montgomery County.
  • Please address any complaints about the trash collection service with the HOA or J&J Trash directly at (301)-898-2109.
  • All trash should be placed in a plastic bag and then into a trash receptacle with a tight fitting lid.

Bulk Trash Pick-Up
Residents may contact J&J Trash Collection to schedule bulk trash pick-up (ex:  furniture) by calling 800-465-2350. There may be an extra charge to residents for bulk pick-up.

Condominium Trash Corrals
Owners of townhomes and single family homes in the community are reminded that it is illegal to use the trash corrals on the condominium lots. The condominiums pay for their own trash collection through their condo assessments. If you use their trash corrals, you are subject to a minimum $500 civil fine and possible criminal prosecution. To report illegal dumping, call 311. A Department of Environment investigator will return your call.

  • On federal holiday weeks, collection "slides" one day later and is picked up on Friday. Click here to view the county recycling schedule.

Snow Removal

The HOA Management will be monitoring email during snow events.  For fastest response, please contact manager@clarksburghoa.com with snow related issues that require immediate attention. Our contractor will be directed to plow the private streets first, then alleys. To allow our contractor to be as efficient as possible, remember parking in the alley is not permitted at any time.

The County will plow all streets in the community with the exception of the following private streets, which are plowed by the HOA:

  • Branchbrier Way
  • Brightwell Drive between 12800 and 12820
  • Four Leaf Alley
  • Harness Point Way
  • Hawkeye Alley
  • Martz Street
  • Overlook Park Drive portion in front of the 23620 Condo building
  • Piedmont Trail Road
  • Short Hills Drive portion between 23933 and 23937 Catawba Hill Drive

The Clarksburg HOA clears sidewalks in front of the residents clubhouse, community center, the asphalt path along Snowden Farm Parkway between Stringtown Road and Burdette Forest Road, and the Clarksburg Square Road land bridge between Burdette Forest Road and Overlook Park Drive. Click here to view the HOA snow removal map.

If your home has a pervious concrete walkway please click here for proper winter maintenance techniques.

Click here for the Montgomery County snow removal map by street address.

All residents are required by Montgomery County law to clear sidewalks in front of and alongside their properties within 24 hours of the end of a snowstorm.  If you are able to help a neighbor in need of clearing their sidewalk, the good neighbor approach is encouraged.

Please remember that it is your responsibility to evaluate conditions when you walk.  If conditions are icy, please do not walk on sidewalks or walkways.

Residents with questions regarding snow removal on the private streets listed above, the alleys, or common sidewalks should contact manager@clarksburghoa.com or call the Management Office at 301-444-8680.

Questions pertaining to all other streets should be directed to Montgomery County by calling 311.
